FULL MOON IN VIRGO - MARCH 18TH, 2022

 This full moon in Virgo is taking place just a few days before the spring equinox and the beginning of Aries season, which will kick off a new lunar new year. It feels especially appropriate that this final full moon is in the sign of Virgo.

Virgo, the Maiden, represents fertility, agriculture, and abundance. She is the waxing face of the Triple Goddess, representing youth, awakenings, and expansion. Her keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills ensures that nothing gets forgotten. Her strong work ethic allows her to reap what she sows and enjoy all the fruits of her labor. She is self-sufficient and in tune to the needs of herself and those around her.

With spring around the corner, here are the three main things you need to know to embody the spirit of the Maiden.

SPRING CLEANING

Before you say you’ve already got spring cleaning on your list, I’m not just talking about your average seasonal household cleaning. I’m talking about a top to bottom scrub of your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual aspects of your life. It’s time to clear out the cobwebs, throw out what you no longer need, make sure you’re only keeping the things that bring you happiness + ease, and take note of what needs some improving. Not only are full moons great for releasing, but this is the final full moon of our current lunar year. Think about what you want to clear or leave behind as we move forward into a new lunar year and into spring.

TIME TO GET ORGANIZED

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with everything that’s on your plate, fear not! This full moon in Virgo is here to help ground us while we get practical and organized. Now is the time to look at your current routines, habits, structures, and schedules to determine what’s working and what isn’t. I recommend starting a “Brain Dump” list that you can later organize into subcategories, just to help you get clear on all that you need or want to get done.

If you have some resistance to planning or structure, I totally get it. Keep in mind that Virgo is a mutable earth sign, meaning she is very adaptable. Virgo loves to plan, but she knows that it’s okay if plans change. She doesn’t fear change because she knows that her meticulous organizational skills can support her through any change. She also knows that in the end, her intuition will tell her what is best. So remember, these are plans made for you by you and Virgo has got your back!

PRACTICE SELF-FORGIVENESS 

One of the challenges Virgo faces is that of perfectionism. Virgo energy can easily nitpick, overanalyze, and ultimately be consumed by the little things if it goes unchecked. This vicious cycle can lead to some dangerous negative self talk, from self-doubt to pointing the finger to putting yourself down in the way only you know how to. During this full moon, practice self-compassion and remember to not be too hard on yourself. When hypercritical thoughts creep in that take you back to moments where you believe you failed or did something wrong, take pause and practice self-forgiveness. You are only human doing all that you can to survive in this life and if you’re here reading this, I can assure you that you’re doing a fantastic job. Go easy on yourself and celebrate all you have accomplished.
