There is a lot going on this weekend, from Pluto turning retrograde, to the start of eclipse season with a solar eclipse in Taurus, to Walpurgis Night and then Beltane. While I think there is a lot to unpack with everything that’s going on, the most important takeaway of this weekend is REST.

We so easily forget (or cannot accept) that rest is equally as, if not more important than being active. We have been conditioned to believe that productivity equals success and that any other way of being is not a valuable use of time. As much as capitalism forces these ideas on us, it doesn't take into account that we are living beings with natural cycles + rhythms that ebb and flow just like everything else in nature. We cannot live in an active state 100% of the time and pretend like we are okay.

Rest is essential. It gives our nervous system a chance to process, to restore, to heal. Remember that resting doesn't just mean sleeping. Allowing ourselves to rest physically, emotionally, and mentally can look however we need it to. Focus on how resting feels and not just how you think it should look. If you think you're rested, there's a good chance that you need to let yourself sink into a deeper level of rest. Let this new moon inspire you to slow down and focus on you. 

This new moon in Taurus will also get you thinking about your other needs, especially when it comes to what makes you comfortable and secure. Luckily, there’s a good chance that asserting your need for rest will snowball and inspire you to set other healthy boundaries that benefit you and your natural rhythms. Make yourself and your needs your top priority this weekend and don’t be shy when it comes to asserting those needs.
